Ted stopped by early this afternoon to ask if I wanted anything from the store. He said he didn't know if anything would be open, but he was going to try. I told him I'd like a green bell pepper and a couple of "lemons." Dan was going to do it as a side trip during his trek in to go to mass this morning, but about a half an hour after he left the house he was back in a bit of snit saying that, "Don was an ass," or something along those lines. Apparently Mr, Hummer stopped at the bus stop where Dan was waiting, introduced his wife who was in the hum with him, and they made small talk. Dan asked if he was going into town. "No." Well, are you going to the intersection? "No." Now this is a very strange response because if you're headed down this road there is very little likelihood that you are NOT in fact going at least to the intersection. You may be going right to David and not left into town, but neither??? So, needless to say Don is not Dan's best friend right now, although he is working on his reactivity, and he's removed a couple of adjectives from Don's name. Well, really, it is a holy day after all.
So Ted returned with my green pepper and lemons and agreed to dinner tomorrow night of red beans and rice and said that they would provide the salad. Excellent.
This morning I purchased another 500 pages of John Grisham in the form of Sycamore Row, and spent the rest of the day reading. I like this guy, probably because he's a brilliant liberal and loves sticking it to the arrogant, corrupt, greedy and racist among us.
Right now Dan's in the shower after his run - in a much better mood. I prepared black bean burritos for dinner, and we will continue our nightly binge on The Borgias. Thanks for the great recommendation Kathy!! Kudos to Netflix - they got it back for me. I can't remember if I blogged this or was corresponding in an email, but we watched a number of episodes one night, and then couldn't get it the next. I "chatted" with Netflix, and they said it was because the first night I was on the Panamanian DNS (???), and now I'm not, but they said they would get it back for me, and sure enough, last night it was back. Always wondered who Lucretia Borgia was... we're finding out. Love Netflux.
