11/30/2013 What a difference a week can make! Since the rental in Ecuador fell through we were having problems finding a new place there. I was in the process of securing a room at a hostel for the first week during which time I could try to find a new place. Dan was nervous about the Internet connection and then said he wouldn’t be opposed to changing our plans and going to Panama instead. Well, he didn’t have to say that twice. I was on the computer immediately and eventually found a realtor who has a number of very cute little houses for rent. She said she would pick us up at the airport in David and take us around and let us pick. As I was talking to her on the phone, I could hear the roosters crowing in the background and I could almost feel the sunshine and the bajareque (the fine mist in the morning air). The only tough part was changing our tickets. We had to pay $379 for the change for each ticket, and now we are not leaving until Tues. But I’m fine with all of that. Actually I am much more than fine, I couldn’t be happier. Boquete has always been my first choice.
11/23/2013 So, I thought that this might be a good time to start this blog. I just found out this morning that the little house we had rented in Nulti has fallen through. The owner had an emergency and had to cancel the rental. We leave here on 11/30, so that gives us a week to find a new place. In the meantime I have rented a room at Hostal Macondo, which is the hostel we stayed at last time. It is in the center of Cuena, and we know it has a great Internet connection, so Dan is not panicking.
