It's another absolutely gorgeous day. The sun is shining, and there is a light breeze. Windows and doors are open, and we're settling in to a nice, relaxing Sunday. Our trip into town yesterday was very interesting. Unfortunately, I forgot to take my phone. I forget that it is my camera. So, next Saturday I'll try again. We now understand how the bus works. We just stand at the corner a short distance from our house and the bus picks us up. It is a little minivan. They pack it to the gills. Yesterday on the trip home I counted 26 people, including babies. We were the only Americans. The majority were Nube, perhaps a couple of Panamanians. El centro is very active on Saturdays. There are a number of stalls set up with handicrafts and produce. There is also a stage set up, and there is live music with men and women dressed in native dress. I promise I'll take pictures next Saturday. The park in the center is packed with people enjoying the show or just visiting.
Our first stop yesterday morning was the Claro office to change our Internet connection from 2G to 3G and to add days to our service. When we arrived there a little after noon, the doors were locked. There were two young women standing out front who informed us that the office was closed for lunch until 12:30. Okay, so we resigned to waiting for the 20 minutes or so (It's a walk from el centro, so we didn't want to walk back and forth). About 30 seconds later, one of the women asked what we needed. I explained, and then she said okay, and unlocked the door. Both women went in, took their positions, and apparently lunch was suddenly over! The other interesting thing is that this young woman is the same one who two days ago told me that it couldn't be done. Mine is not to question why...
Now Dan is rocking to Stevie Wonder. Panama seems to have brought out his Motown mojo.
