I was all set this morning to work with the tech support for the clinic I work for to figure out why my computer is not working properly. Instead I received an email that their workload was really low so they wouldn't need me this week. I quickly sent off an email to Pam, an after a bit of feigned sympathy she asked if I wanted to play golf tomorrow morning. "Ahhh, just a sec; let me check my schedule... Okay!" So, we're playing at 9:30 tomorrow morning. The greater portion of today I spent completing my Grisham novel. Very entertaining. Then my Jillian Michaels workout, a shower, a bit of blogging and now on to making vegetable soup. Dan worked all day - someone has to, and is now taking a little nap. I've been getting reports of 15 below at home. I'm sitting here at my computer in my underwear in front of the open patio door. Yes, this was the right decision after all. I was worried for a little while there, but yes, I'm in a good place right now, The Joyful Now, you could say.
Just have to add a note about the soup tonight. Not that I will ever make it again... because I probably couldn't, but I want to remember it because it was so good. It was a basic clean-out-the-refrigerator soup.
Saute:
Onions
Garlic
Carrots
Celery
Eggplant
Porcini mushroom
Add:
Broccoli stems
Potato
Cabbage
Green beans
Canned tomatoes
Culantro (yes, not cilantro - completely different - and a fabulous flavor)
Parsley
Garbanzo beans
Chicken bouillon
Excellent! I'll probably have it for breakfast.
