We slept until 9 this morning, partially due to our late evening and partially due to the fact that it was SO quiet. There was scarcely a car on the road. Dan decided to go into town to attend mass. He said that he waited quite a long time before he was finally picked up by a young man, Heriberto Mair Gonzalez, technical engineer specializing in topography (a surveyor), who dropped him off at the intersection of Volcancito Road and the main highway. From there Dan walked the last mile to church. Dan loves Jesus (aka Cheesus :)).
Later that afternoon we went for a walk. Dan showed me his running route. I took some photos along the way, which I will upload when possible. We saw Delia and Gary's house. The outside is gorgeous; maybe some day we'll see the inside. Next door lives Mr. Hummer. His name is Don, but I call him Mr. Hummer because that is what he drives. As we were walking along the road, just nearing his house he passed us, honked his horn and we waved. He pulled into his driveway and then came out to the road and introduced himself. He is a very nice young man. Again, apparently the descendant of some large landowners. The views from his house are incredible. He encouraged us to move to Panama and buy a house. Okay!
Once back home, I made a shrimp stir-fry, and we settled in to watch Netflix. John and Jayne called, and later Ann called, and Josephine treated us to Away in a Manger and Fur Elise on the piano. Sandy sent pictures from Christmas Eve get-together at Mickey's, and I spent some time on Google Hangout with Michele and Jolene.
